We spent part of our spring break at Grandma and Steve’s house in OKC (reminder — Steve is our nephew and the boy’s idol). Steve is very patient and generous with Max and Bo — beyond his years. It’s always fun to see what sort of alter egos come out when we visit their house. [...]

(Pretend it’s March)
March 31, 2012
I used to make a ridiculously big deal out of my birthday. (e.g. Our basketball team would keep a countdown on the locker room whiteboard of days until each person’s bday… most people started the countdown at 7 days or so, I would begin posting a good 50 days out and faithfully update it (with [...]
A little R&R
February 4, 2012
Maybe I should have been more specific… Just last week I was examining my toenails, which have been dominated by years of running and neglected during my 3.5 years of motherhood. Some of my friends splurge on the occasional pedicure, but I find this to be a form of public humiliation. I feel the need to apologetically explain [...]
Big news!
January 31, 2012
Stop panicking, I’m not pregnant It’s funny (and refreshing) to me that no matter what sort of highs and lows we walk through as adults, kids just keep playing. I. Love. That. Life with CF is characterized by highs and lows. Lung infection and IV antibiotics (low), great numbers on a pulmonary function test (high), [...]
Christmas review
January 30, 2012
Some Christmas 2011 highlights: Christmas morning with Grandma and Steve, Granny, and Papa in OKC Meeting Santa and (even more importantly) meeting the Chic-fil-a Santa cow (still remains one of the happiest places on earth for Max and Bo – a play area, waffle fries, chocolate milk, balloons, AND a huge cow?!) Spending the week [...]
Happy 52 weeks Bo!
December 3, 2011
I’ll be the first to admit that I’m holding on to Bo’s infant-hood. And quoting his age in weeks lets me trick myself into thinking he is younger than he is. We celebrated his, you know, last week. I can’t believe it has been a year! Max said that he really wanted to get Bo [...]

11 months!
October 22, 2011
Yesterday Bo hit the 11 month mark. I am trying to really take this in so that one month from now won’t be as big of a shock. Here’s a little comparison of Bo and Max (at 11 months). You can definitely tell they are brothers (if not by looks, at least by clothing and [...]
Baker Bob

I strongly believe that early childhood educators should make six figures. At least. On Tues/Thurs mornings Max attends the Little Red Schoolhouse Nursery school (which just so happens to be little and red). It is a co-op where parents volunteer about 4 times a semester so every day there are 2 teachers and 2 parents [...]
Life is good
September 2, 2011
Just a quick update with some overdue photos. (top: my new faithful running partner slash alarm clock, middle: Max and Bo on the train at Gage park, bottom: explanation below) Max is very sensitive (okay, terrified) by loud or unexpected noises (think animated toys that shouldn’t move, whistles, fireworks, car horns, etc) so this can [...]
